Day, night, weekend, August

Emergency locksmith in Orihuela Costa, whatever the hour on the clock

Shut out of the bungalow, keys gone with a bag, a stub of key stuck in the gate, a handle that spins without moving the bolt. Whatever the hour, somebody picks up, and you get a straight answer about when we can be in your urbanisation.

The first minute of the call

Five details that get us to your door, not the one next to it

On this coast an address is an urbanisation before it is a street, and a satnav does not know which side of a community wall your door is on. So:

  • Which side of the N-332 or the AP-7 you are on.
  • The urbanisation or complex, as it is written on the gate: "Lomas de Cabo Roig" is not "Cabo Roig".
  • The street, the block and the number, and whether it is upstairs or downstairs.
  • Which lock has beaten you: the community gate, the garden gate or the front door.
  • A WhatsApp pin, plus a picture of the keyhole if you still have your phone.

Anyone at risk inside, a baby, someone unwell, something on the cooker: dial 112 first, then us.

What the calls are

The situations behind most emergency calls here

  • The door clicked shut behind you

Down to the communal pool or out to the bins, keys on the kitchen worktop. We hear this one more than any other, and it rarely leaves a mark on the door.

  • Keys lost on a night out

Left in a taxi or dropped on the beach at La Zenia. If there is any chance they were taken with something showing your address, the cylinder should change the same night.

  • A stub of key left in the cylinder

Usually an old key in a lock gone stiff with salt air and dust. The stub comes out with an extractor; a new cylinder goes in only when the old one has been damaged.

  • The handle moves, the bolt stays put

Something inside the door has broken, often the gearbox of a multipoint lock. Forcing the key harder will not help; the door is opened first and the mechanism fixed after.

  • Guests at a holiday let who cannot get in

A code that will not work or a key that never arrived. Owners and managers will find the booked-ahead side of this on the holiday rentals page.

  • Keys locked in the car

At a beach car park or outside La Zenia Boulevard: see a car lockout, which runs through the night as well.

Timing

Why no page will tell you "fifteen minutes"

In 2024, 27,929 people were registered in Orihuela Costa, and residents' representatives quoted in the press in August 2026 put the real figure at around 60,000 in winter and well over 100,000 in summer. The coast runs from Punta Prima to the edge of Pilar de la Horadada, and Villamartín sits beyond the motorway. Getting to you can be quick or slow depending on where the previous job was, the time of night and which strip of the coast you are in.

So the figure you get is worked out on the call, for your street, at that moment. Picking up at three in the morning is something we can promise. A fixed arrival time printed on a website would be a guess, so there isn't one.

The job

From the phone call to a door that locks again

  1. A time for your address

Worked out on the call from where we are and where you are, so you can decide whether to wait.

  2. Proof that it is your door

Before anything is touched: residence papers or an ID showing the address, a rental contract, a booking, a neighbour or the community president who knows you, or the owner on the phone.

  3. The price, agreed at the door

Once the lock has been looked at, and before any tool goes near it.

  4. Picking before drilling

Most lockout doors here open through the cylinder with nothing broken. Drilling is kept for when nothing else works, and you are asked first.

  5. Locked properly before we go

A drilled cylinder, or keys now in a stranger's pocket, means a replacement fitted there and then rather than another visit.

The methods are explained in how a front door is opened, and what comes after in a new cylinder. Which urbanisations we reach is set out on the coverage page, and phone, WhatsApp and email are all on the contact page.

Questions

Asked from the wrong side of a door

I am at the community gate and cannot even reach my front door. Is that one call or two?

One. Mention it straight away: the pedestrian gate and your own door are separate locks, and knowing that both are shut means everything needed for both comes on the first trip.

My phone is inside too. How do I reach you?

Borrow one: a neighbour, the pool attendant, a bar in the commercial centre. Tell us the number you are using, so we can ring you on it when we are near.

There is a baby or an elderly person inside, or a pan on the hob.

That is a 112 call, not a locksmith call. Firefighters and police are sent for exactly this and will be at the door sooner. Once everyone is safe, ring us to get that door locking properly again.

Half of the key snapped off in the lock. Should I pull it out?

No. Picking at it with tweezers or the other half tends to wedge the stub deeper. Left alone, the broken piece usually comes out in one go with the right tool, and the cylinder can often stay in the door.

Do you come out for Pilar de la Horadada and San Miguel de Salinas at night?

Yes, both are covered at any hour, including Torre de la Horadada, Mil Palmeras and the San Miguel urbanisations such as Blue Lagoon and El Galán.

Still standing outside it?

Call us. Can't talk? WhatsApp where you are and what the lock is doing, and we will phone you back.
