A coast of watchtowers, and a locksmith on call along it
In the sixteenth century, the towers on this coast warned of raiders with smoke by day and fire by night, and the next tower along passed the signal on. A locksmith on call is a smaller version of the same idea: somebody who answers, whatever the hour.
The business
A mobile locksmith, working from Orihuela Costa
Locksmith Orihuela Costa works out of a van rather than a shop front: every job is done where the lock is. The phone is answered in English and Spanish, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for emergencies. Planned work, such as changing cylinders or repairing a slider, is booked for a day that suits you.

How the work is done
The rules every job follows
- Proof before anything is opened. A door, a car or a safe is opened only for someone who can show they have the right to it.
- The lock before the door. Opening through the cylinder is always tried first. Drilling is the last resort, and it is discussed with you before it starts.
- An honest estimate, never a promise of minutes. How long it will take to reach you depends on where the last job was and where you are.
- The price agreed before work starts, once the lock has been seen. Payment by cash, card or Bizum.
- A lock that works before leaving. If a cylinder had to be destroyed, a new one goes in on the same visit.
What is not offered
Work you will need someone else for
This business opens, repairs and replaces locks, and opens cars whose keys are locked inside. None of the following is offered:
- Cutting, copying or duplicating keys of any kind
- Spare keys for front doors, gates or padlocks
- Car keys: cutting, supplying, replacing or programming them
- Transponder keys and vehicle remote controls
- Ignition barrel or ignition switch repairs
- Keys for motorbikes or vans
